Point-of-care immunoassay
Avacta is developing next generation point-of-care rapid immunoassay and benchtop electronic reader technology capable of providing several orders of magnitude increased sensitivity compared to a traditional lateral flow device (LFD).
The immunoassay takes place on a disposable fluidic chip, with the electronic reader providing a repeatable, quantitative measure of the analytes present. Depending on the chip type either single or multiple, parallel immunoassays can be performed.
Target key features:
- Several orders of magnitude greater detection sensitivity than most third party immuno-gold or -latex lateral flow test strips
- Highly reproducible results from independent test runs
- Single or multi-analyte tests
- Quantitative output for each analyte
The capability to quantitatively measure multiple analytes in one immunoassay is ideal for applications such as animal or human health screening where multiple biomarkers need to be accurately quantified.
