Point-of-care immunoassay

Avacta is developing next generation point-of-care rapid immunoassay and benchtop electronic reader technology capable of providing several orders of magnitude increased sensitivity compared to a traditional lateral flow device (LFD).

The immunoassay takes place on a disposable fluidic chip, with the electronic reader providing a repeatable, quantitative measure of the analytes present. Depending on the chip type either single or multiple, parallel immunoassays can be performed.

Target key features:

  • Several orders of magnitude greater detection sensitivity than most third party immuno-gold or -latex lateral flow test strips
  • Highly reproducible results from independent test runs
  • Single or multi-analyte tests
  • Quantitative output for each analyte

Applications:
The capability to quantitatively measure multiple analytes in one immunoassay is ideal for applications such as animal or human health screening where multiple biomarkers need to be accurately quantified.
