Successful Integration of OMD
May 06, 2008Oxford Medical Diagnostics is successfully integrated in to the Avacta Group.
Oxford Medical Diagnostics Ltd (OMD), a spin out from the University of Oxford developing trace gas analysis technology for industrial gas sensing and medical diagnostics was acquired by Avacta in December 2007. OMD has now been successfully integrated into the Avacta Group with important synergies between the technology platforms in OMD and Avacta being exploited to develop common electronics and software engines.
The commercial progress of OMD since joining the Avacta Group has accelerated and several commercial partnerships are in discussion both in the industrial gas sensing sector and for the development of OMD’s technology for analysis of headspace gases above clinical samples. OMD has also pushed forward with its internal development of a breath analysis system aimed initially at carbon isotopic ratio monitoring but expandable to other biomarkers.
